For the Year of the Snake, beginning on 29 January 2025, the brand has released two exclusive models as part of its renowned Métiers d’Art series. The Métiers d’Art Year of the Snake watches feature lifelike depictions of the zodiac animal, carved and painted with intricate detail. Master engravers dedicate nearly three days to crafting the cobra and its surroundings, capturing textures and reliefs with precision. Complementing the engraving, the backdrop employs Grand Feu enamel and Geneva’s traditional opaque enamel techniques. Multiple firings at high temperatures create a gradient effect that shifts from soft hues at the centre to richer tones near the edges.

These watches adopt an unconventional time display, replacing traditional hands with four apertures. The hours and minutes are indicated at 11 and 1 o’clock, while the day and date appear at 7 and 5 o’clock. The apertures are harmoniously integrated into the dial, with colour schemes that echo the detailed enamel background.

Powered by the in-house calibre 2460 G4, this self-winding movement meets the stringent Hallmark of Geneva certification. Its openworked 22k gold rotor bears Vacheron Constantin’s Maltese cross, while the mechanism oscillates at 28,800 vibrations per hour and provides a 40-hour power reserve. The precise craftsmanship is as evident on the inside as on the watch’s exterior.

The Year of the Snake collection is available in two versions: 40mm platinum or pink gold cases, each paired with a matching alligator leather strap in shades of brown or blue. With just 25 pieces per model, these watches are exclusively available at Vacheron Constantin boutiques, making them a rare find for enthusiasts.
